How I can see (import) my personal folder from my old hard disk drive?

Postby IncredibleInternet » Wed Nov 18, 2015 4:44 pm

Hello,

I installed Windows 10 on a new hard drive, so I reinstalled all my applications including "Incredimail".

When I use again "Incredimail" I no longer have my directories and subdirectories that I had created or what they contained.

How to recover these directories and subdirectories and all data contained in them?
----------------------------------
The following link don’t work (File / Data and Settings Transfer Wizard):
http://support.incredimail.com/entries/ ... er-Wizard-

How do I import using the Data and Settings Transfer Wizard?

A window appears saying to select the file: IncrediMailData.cab.
I did a deeply search (all files, hidden, protected, etc.) on my machine and no file with this name.
----------------------------------
If I try File / Import and Export same thing. I can’t import my personal folder.
I can just import the following folders:
\Inbox
\Outbox
\Sent Items
\Deleted Items
\Spams
\Drafts

So I find that a lot complicated to import my personal folder and sub-folder and all what inside.
How I can see (import) my personal folder from my old hard disk drive?

Thanks!

Hello,

In this case, do you have a recent backup of the IncrediMail data from the old hard drive ?

If so, what is the name of the backup file/folder and where is it located ?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

Thanks to try to resolve my problem.

I have two hard disk.
HDD #1 it's my old system with Windows 10 and Incredimail full with my personal data.
And I never create a backup.

HDD #2 (SSD)
My new system with Windows 10.
I install a fresh copy of IncrediMail but like I say I can't see my personal folders now.

The problem is that I can't boot anymore from my HDD #1.
I try diagnostic, recuperation, etc. and nothing work.

The HDD #1 is good but Windows is like "corrupted" (since I can't boot from it).
But all my applications and data are there and I see all folders and can copy what I want from HDD #1.

But I don't know of it's possible from my new installation HDD #2 and running IncrediMail
to say go to my old HDD #1 and take all my folders and my personal data there.

Again I never create a backup from IncrediMail but all my data are accessible just with Explorer.exe.

I would like a lot you can help me since I have a lot of personal data I would like recover from my old HDD #1.

Thanks by advance for all help !!!

Is It possible to go get our IncrediMail personal data (personal folders) from another system ?

Disk # 1 : Windows 10 (not able to boot), but all data Is accessible (IncrediMail, etc.)

Disk # 2 : New Installation of Windows 10. IncrediMail is installed, but all the personal folders are gone.

Can we recover the personal folders from disk # 1 although it was not made "Transferring Backup”?

In this case, to import the messages and contacts from the old hard drive, please do the following:

1. In Windows Explorer, browse to the following location:

O:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Local\IM

Note: "O" refers to the old hard drive, and YOURUSER refers to your previous Windows user.

2. Copy the "Identities" folder to your current Desktop.

3. Open IncrediMail, click on File > Import and Export > Import Messages.

4. In the pop-up window, select "IncrediMail" and click on Next.

5. Click "Select Folder" and browse to the "Identities" folder located on your Desktop. Click on Next.

6. Select the option "All Folders". Click on Next.

7. When complete, click on Finish.

8. In the main IncrediMail window, click on File > Import and Export > Import Contacts.

9. In the pop-up window, select "IncrediMail Address Book" and click on Next.

10. Click "Select Folder" and browse to the "Identities" folder located on your Desktop. Click on Next.

11. When complete, click on Finish.

Please let me know the results.

Hello friends of Incredimail,
I'm german, so sorry for my english, and I'm Incredimail Premium user since 2005, exactly 10 years.
Since October I use Windows 10 on a win 7 /64 acer laptop (2011).
Last weekend I had to reinstall win 10 by the reason of another problem, nothing to do with Incredimail.
I made the biggest mistake ever on earth.
During restoring I tried to escape the reinstalling win 10 backup process by closing my computer.
So by the following fresh windows 10 installation I realized that the C:\windows.old was destroyed by the escaped win 10 installation.
So, I have really the same problem. The help here worked, but then I got the message every time I open Incredimail.
No problem, uninstall of Incredimail, new install.
Now I want to backup my Incredimail win 10 installation from last working day (5.12.2015) only by the old indredimail files which I restored by a restoring program (RecoverMyFiles). This program is crazy good, no matter I you reinstall windows for several times, it can restore files if they are not corrupted, from older windows installation.
- For me is important my 23 email accounts,
- My saved important emails in self created folders (in earlier Incredimail these folders were global, not coming with each email address/account.
My contacts (for this I have a backup .csv file)
But for me is important which files are necessary and were are they located.
It should be a full restored Incredimal installation, only by restored files.
Is this possible? If yes, which files are needed and where are they?

Thank for each inspiration, support and help..
Lots of greets

from Rüsselsheim near Frankfurt am Main
