Email remains in outbox

If I try to send an email to a group and use the bcc option it gets no further than the outbox with an error message 550 5.3.4 554-554 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Deliver; delivery result banner. How do I correct the email to allow it to be sent/

To address this issue, please enter your email address in the To field, and enter all of the other email addresses in the BCC field.

Apparently, Hotmail has recently changed their settings now requiring a recipient in To field.
