I find that all of my INBOX messages are now arranged in alphabetical order and not as required in the latest emails in date order. I can find no way to correct this and would be very grateful for some advice please.

You can sort by any column by clicking on the column heading. To sort by Received, click on that column heading, on the word Received. You will see an arrow next to the name of whatever column you are currently sorting by.
