Indent and line spacing

What have you done before the problem occurred?

Please provide a full description of the problem:
When I copy something from an attachment from another email (the lines are single spaced with the text indented), the lines become double-spaced. The double-spacing and the indent remain active for the rest of the message I am typing. How do I turn off the double-spacing and reset the indent?

Does this occur to all types of text you copy and paste?
