Cannot Import data... URGENT help needed...

Hi there,

I've tried several times to import into my new installation of Incredimail 2.5 but no luck.

This is the error I get on completion of the attempted import via the import wizard:

I've also tried to import the data.cab files manually after exporting them to the desktop. The folders come in but are empty. HELP...
But the contacts were added manually though.

In this case, to manually import the previous messages and folders, please do the following:

1. Download the WinRAR application at:

2. In File Explorer, copy the "IncrediMail Transferred Data" folder to your Windows Desktop.

3. Open the "IncrediMail Transferred Data" folder now contained on your Desktop, right-click on the "IncrediMail Data.cab" file, and select the option "Extract Here". Depending on the size of your files, the extraction may take a few moments.

4. Open IncrediMail, click on File > Import and Export > Import Messages.

5. In the pop-up window, select "IncrediMail" and click Next.

6. Click "Select Folder" and browse to the "Identities" folder contained in the "IncrediMail Transferred Data" folder on your Desktop. Click on Next.

7. Select the option "All Folders". Click on Next.

8. When complete, click on Finish.

Hello again,

I did exactly as you have asked and the folders it imports are still empty...

Also, VERY importantly, will you be fixing the import export of data so that we do not have to do it manually????

In this case, when importing the messages, rather than selecting the option "All Folders", please select the option "Select Folders" and then try importing the individual folders into your current installation.

If the problem continues, I would like you to temporarily downgrade to IncrediMail 2.0, import the messages from your previous identity into that version of IncrediMail, and then upgrade to IncrediMail 2.5.

To achieve this, please do the following:

1. Go to Start > Settings > System > Apps and features, select "IncrediMail 2.5" and click on "Uninstall".

Note: As the uninstall script only removes the exe/dll files, the existing data and settings should not be affected.

2. Once the uninstall completes, please run the following executable to install the latest build of IncrediMail 2.0:

3. Open IncrediMail and import the messages once again from your previous installation (as per my earlier instructions).

4. Upon verifying that all of the messages have been imported, please run the following executable to install the latest build of IncrediMail 2.5:

I attempted to import into the older version as you suggested above and it did NOT work, again.

Also when I click to import the messages from the identities folders nothing is found and I cannot continue.

I really need to get to those messages urgently...
