If update KB 3119147 is the problem, why can't we just go to updates and delete this one.

Hi

The point I was making is that even thought IM are aware of the problem their Tech Advisors were still not admitting this when they emailed me this week suggesting that I reinstall IM even though I made them aware of the crash error notice which flashed up on my computer which clearly indicated that the windows update was causing the problem. All they had to do was admit that there were aware of the problem and that they are looking into a fix but instead I had to waste my time reinstalling.

I have done that, IM will load and work, but next time you boot your computer windows will re-install that update and you will be back at square one.
WE need the issue fixed and not a runaround off the issue.

Like ConfusedAgain, I've been finding this method of starting IM to be foolproof:

Right Click the desktop icon,
Click on Run as Administrator

Maybe it will help other users until the problem is properly fixed.

I ran into the same issue.. (appcrash) Windows 10, x86.

I uninstalled the following windows updates: KB3122962, KB3124200 & KB3116900.
Now incredimail is able to start again. So problem fixed..

I tried the Right click and then "Run as Administrator" does no good either, bummer.

Using "Run as Administrator" is very dangerous! It gives absolute permission for something to do absolutely anything to absolutely every program and data file on the whole PC. Any incoming malware/virus could take over your PC. I would never give an email client administrator rights.

Do we know which Windows 7 update did this. I've seen the above posts pointing to a Windows 10 one. I had exact issue happen on a windows 7x64 machine. I removed several updated on windows 7 for the month of Dec. and no difference. I have tested out compatibilty settings, DEP protection exclusions, ect. with no change. Anyone have a good work around for this let me know. Thanks.

Incredimail need to get off their Backsides and sort this mess out? I agree that it is NOT their fault but I for one am getting FEDUP of having to uninstall a windows update every time that I want to read my mail. In Windows 10 unlike previous versions there is NO way of hiding or stopping this update from being put on your system. The only way you can stop this happening until Incredimail get their act together is to stop updates being installed altogether which leaves your system open to attack from other vulnerabilities from the OS?
