Not able To Export Data Settings?

Postby devonbiker » Sat Oct 26, 2013 4:11 pm

Your IncrediMail Version: 2.5
Your Internet Browser Type: Google Chrome
Your Operation System: Windows 7

What have you done before the problem occurred?
Nothing that we can think of.

If you receive any error message, please quote it precisely:

Please provide a full description of the problem:
Had a problem with our computer, got it fixed and it caused me to think about backing up incredimail. Went to data and settings transfer wizard and noticed there was no option to export only import.

We are not able to back anything up in our increidmail HELP please!

Thanks
Paul

IncrediMail 2.5's latest versions do not have that option.

To backup your data you can purchase IncrediMail Plus which includes IncrediBackup, or purchase IncrediBackup separately.

You can also perform a manual backup of your data.

Please follow these steps to manually backup your IncrediMail data:

1. Exit the IncrediMail application by right-clicking on the icon in your Windows taskbar and selecting 'Exit'.

2. In Windows Explorer, browse to the following location: C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Local\IM **Note: YOURUSER refers to your actual Windows user**.

3. Copy the 'Identities' folder to your chosen backup location.

To later import the backup, please do the following:

1. Copy the 'Identities' folder from the backup location to your Desktop.

2. Open IncrediMail, click on File > Import and Export > Import Messages.

3. In the pop-up window, select 'IncrediMail' and click on 'Next'.

4. Click 'Select Folder' and browse to the 'Identities' folder located on your Desktop. Click on 'Nex't.

5. Select the option 'All Folders' and make sure the 'Import To a New Folder' option is checked. Click on 'Next'.

6. When complete, click on 'Finish'.

Once IncrediMail has imported your email messages, do the following to import your IncrediMail contacts:

1. In the main IncrediMail window, go to File > Import and Export > Import Contacts.

2. In the pop-up window, select 'IncrediMail Address Book' and click on 'Next'.

3. Click 'Select Folder' and browse to the 'Identities' folder located on your Desktop. Click on 'Next'.

4. When complete, click 'Finish'.

Let me know if you encounter any difficulties.

As the export function has been removed in the latest build of IncrediMail 2.5 due to various problems with the transfer wizard, to manually backup the IncrediMail data, please do the following:

1. Exit the IncrediMail application by right-clicking on the icon in your Windows taskbar and selecting "Exit".

2. In File/Windows Explorer, browse to the following location:
C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Local\IM

Note: YOURUSER refers to your actual Windows user. As the "AppData" folder may sometimes be hidden, for instructions on how to show hidden files and folders in Windows, please refer to the online article at:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... dden-files

3. Copy the "Identities" folder to your chosen backup location.

To later import the backup, please do the following:

1. Copy the "Identities" folder from the backup location to your Desktop.

2. Open IncrediMail, click on File > Import and Export > Import Messages.

3. In the pop-up window, select "IncrediMail" and click on Next.

4. Click "Select Folder" and browse to the "Identities" folder located on your Desktop. Click on Next.

5. Select the option "All Folders". Click on Next.

6. When complete, click on Finish.

7. In the main IncrediMail window, click on File > Import and Export > Import Contacts.

8. In the pop-up window, select "IncrediMail Address Book" and click on Next.

9. Click "Select Folder" and browse to the "Identities" folder located on your Desktop. Click on Next.

10. When complete, click on Finish.

Please let me know if you encounter any difficulties.
