What would it take to get the Scroll Bar and Deleted Items Folder issues fixed in IM2.5?

Postby PhartStorm » Mon Nov 06, 2017 12:28 am

Dear Moderators,

As the title states, what would it take to get the scroll bar and deleted items folder issues fixed in IM2.5? As you know, these issues have been around for several years and I am just curious if there is anything the user community could do to persuade your developers to give us a bug fix update? Would a "Go Fund Me" page work? I would be willing to donate to get these issues fixed and I believe other users may also be willing to do so. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to get these issues resolved.

Unfortunately, there is currently no target date for the fixing of these particular bugs.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Best regards,

This response pretty much confirms my earlier assessment:

"The sad fact is there are no developers working on IM2.5. If there were, we would have had these issues addressed well before now. I believe Perion is treating IM as a legacy product and, while they do provide some user support, there will be no future development or bug fixes. If a Windows compatibility issue surfaces that breaks the IM application, they may choose to fix that.

I am truly disappointed in Perion for halting all development of their IM product. I have enjoyed using it for many years, but the scroll bar problem mentioned here impacts nearly 40% of my emails. While I love the personalization features and stationery, I simply cannot continue to use IM as my main email application any more - this error makes it too cumbersome for me to use on a daily basis. I have maintained hope for at least some bug fixes over the past few years, but I think we need to accept the reality that it will never happen. Perion will keep the product on life support as long as it is profitable for them to do so. A sad end to a truly innovative, one-of-a-kind and fun program..."

It seems Perion will not fix the bugs even if the user community offers to cover a portion of the cost. <Sad Smile>

The only thing that would get any of the issues fixed would be to do a class action and not have anything to do with incredimail then see how long before they actually spend some of your hard earned money on fixing their issues. This issue and others has been ongoing for years now and incredimail support will not fix it, they may tell you its a priority on their list but they won't fix it. It seems they are quick at taking your hard earned money but you don't get anything for it. I would suggest switching over to another free email client such as Thunderbird the one I use now Thankfully, you don't need those crappy little characters crawling over your screen telling you "mails in" you just need to receive and send your emails efficiently.
I gave up with incredimail as i think the new owners of incredimail did years ago. They don't listen, you tell them what the problem is and they make you feel like you were the one that caused it,and they attack you with what did you do to get the problem and keep asking you the same, well what you did to get the problem was use incredimail. Why is it so difficult to understand a simple question "My emails won't scroll or i can't open my emails or incredimail crashes when i use it" or I can keep going all day long with this but life is too short to waste it on crappy software.
save yourself the anguish and drop incredimail and I would suggest the same to other users with major issues, you don't need the hassles and frustration,
And if incredimail ban me from this forum then my job is done and I have made my point.

I had to switch to a different mail client (EM Mail) because I could no longer deal with the scroll bar and deleted items folder bugs. That said, I would go back to IncrediMail if they would just fix the bugs. It is really the only product of its kind. However, Perion has stopped all development on the product since the company changed direction in 2011-12. I recall reading a while back that income from IM comprises less than 5% of Perion's total revenue. As I said earlier, Perion will keep IM alive, with minimal investment, as long as it continues make a profit. A sad end to the application that built the company (their original stock symbol was MAIL). <Sad Smile>
