Backup/Restore Problem

My PC crashed after a Windows Update, and I have had to re-install everything.
Having saved an Incredimail Backup, and a Data & Settings file on April 1st I thought, no problem, I will jut restore these to my PC.
However, a lot of my sub folders have disappeared, and I have lost a lot of important emails.
It has restored some folders, and even then some of the folders are empty.
Is there anything I am doing wrong, or can do to rectify this?
