Scrolling out of control

Postby RustyNM » Sat Mar 05, 2011 12:47 am

Your IncrediMail Version: 2.0
Your Internet Browser Type: FireFox 3.5
Your Operation System: Windows 7

What have you done before the problem occurred?
Normal email.

If you receive any error message, please quote it precisely:
None

Please provide a full description of the problem:
Doing normal email and when I have an email folder open (like Inbox) and I click on another application (Excel, Firefox, a game) Encredimail starts scrolling up and down in the folder out of control. I can not click on an email to open it because I can't find it to highlight because of the scrolling. I have to exit Encredimail and restart it and sometimes that doesn't work. I may have to restart Windows. And it doesn't do this all of the time. Not even the majority of time, just every now and then. But when it does, it's really, REALLY irritating.
By the way, it's FireFox 3.6.

Hi,

You can use Firefox all you like. However, Incredimail needs Internet Explorer installed in order to work properly.

In order to solve the problem you are experiencing, please do the following:

First, Right-click the IncrediMail Tray Icon (near the computer clock) and select 'Exit'.

1. Open Internet Explorer, click the 'Tools' menu and select 'Internet Options...’.

2. Next, in the 'General' tab, make sure that the option – ‘Delete browsing history on exit’ is unchecked.

3. Select the 'Security' tab and first make sure that the 'Protected Mode' is unchecked. Next, click the 'Reset all zones to default level' button.

4. Select the 'Advanced' tab, click 'Reset..' (marked in red). The ‘Reset Internet Explorer Settings’ window will open, click on the ‘Reset’ icon. After doing so, click 'Restore advanced settings'.

5. Click 'OK' and close all windows.

Please let me know the results.

I did as you suggested and it didn't make any difference. I performed the same "reset" in Firefox and that didn't make a difference. I even tried Google Chrome as the default browser and yet the same thing happens.

It's possible that the problem you encountered is because another program you have installed on your computer conflicts with IncrediMail.

I'd like you to re-start your computer, loading only the basic programs, by doing the following:

Click the 'Start' menu and in the 'Start Search' dialog, enter 'msconfig', and press on the 'Enter' key.

In the 'System Configuration' dialog, select the 'Startup' tab and click 'Disable All'.

Restart your computer.

With only the basic programs loaded, please try to open IncrediMail and let me know what happens.

Don't forget to repeat steps 1 and 2 and click the 'Enable All' option to restore your computer's default settings.
Best regards,
