Folders are gone

Postby SweetSimone » Sun Aug 04, 2013 8:29 am

Your IncrediMail Version: 6295229
Your Internet Browser Type: Google Chrome
Your Operation System: Windows 7

What have you done before the problem occurred?
I installed a new version without uninstalling the previous incredimail.

If you receive any error message, please quote it precisely:
No.

Please provide a full description of the problem:
Manually installed a new version of Incredimail and my folders are gone from the previous version.
I did a system restore, the incredimail back to the old version but the folders do not reappear.
I lost many messages that I kept in these folders that were created by me. What do I do?

All your personal IncrediMail data - email, contacts and content - is stored in your Windows Profile folder.

To retrieve your IncrediMail Address Book (Contacts), Messages and Folders, first copy your personal IncrediMail folder to the Desktop:

1. Right-click the IncrediMail Tray Icon and select 'Exit'.

2. Browse to the following location:

Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\*Your Profile Name (Logon Name)*\Local Settings\Application Data\IM\

Windows Vista / 7 - C:\Users\*Profile User*\AppData\Local Settings\IM

3. Copy the 'Identities' folder to your Desktop.

Now you can Import your Address Book:

1. Open IncrediMail, click the 'File' menu, scroll to 'Import and Export' and select 'Import Contacts...'.

2. In the 'Import Contacts' dialog, select 'IncrediMail Address Book' and click 'Next'.

3. Click 'Select Folder' and browse to the 'Identities' folder located on your Desktop to import your old contacts.

To import your Messages and Folders:

1. Open IncrediMail, click the 'File' menu, scroll to 'Import and Export' and select 'Import Messages...'.

2. In the 'Import Messages' dialog, select 'IncrediMail' and click 'Next'.

3. Click 'Select Folder' and browse to the 'Identities' folder located on your Desktop to finish the Import.

Did following the steps not import these folders or were they imported as regular folders?
