Data and settings transfer wizard

Postby Shane571 » Wed Jun 29, 2016 9:04 pm

Bit of a long shot as there doesn't seem to be much support on here these days <Sad Smile>

Recently installed Windows 10 (clean install), however, before doing this i thought i'd export all my data etc ...... no problem as i've done this before with previous versions of incredimail as i've had a lifetime premium membership for many years and have done this numerous times before, but i don@t have an option to export data and settings......only import <Surprised> Have i missed something, is this something that happened with the 2.5 upgrade ?

Anyway as i was going to do a clean install i just reformatted and started again from scratch, my IM-PREM licence keys are still there but not really sure if everything is as it should be or not. Seems a lot of people are having problems with Incredimail now and there seems to be very little support anymore.
Could someone confirm if the Export Data and settings has been removed.

Many thanks in anticipation.

As the export function has been removed in the latest build of IncrediMail 2.5 due to various problems with the transfer wizard, to manually backup the IncrediMail data, please do the following:

1. Exit the IncrediMail application by right-clicking on the icon in your Windows taskbar and selecting "Exit".

2. In Windows Explorer, browse to the following location:
C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Local\IM

Note: YOURUSER refers to your actual Windows user.

3. Copy the "Identities" folder to your chosen backup location.

To later import the backup, please do the following:

1. Copy the "Identities" folder from the backup location to your Desktop.

2. Open IncrediMail, click on File > Import and Export > Import Messages.

3. In the pop-up window, select "IncrediMail" and click on Next.

4. Click "Select Folder" and browse to the "Identities" folder located on your Desktop. Click on Next.

5. Select the option "All Folders". Click on Next.

6. When complete, click on Finish.

7. In the main IncrediMail window, click on File > Import and Export > Import Contacts.

8. In the pop-up window, select "IncrediMail Address Book" and click on Next.

9. Click "Select Folder" and browse to the "Identities" folder located on your Desktop. Click on Next.

10. When complete, click on Finish.

Please let me know if you encounter any difficulties.
