Computer slow down

Postby Crabman415 » Thu Jan 13, 2011 11:26 pm

Your IncrediMail Version: Incredimail 2
Your Internet Browser Type: Internet Explorer 8
Your Operation System: Windows XP

What have you done before the problem occurred?
To my knowledge, nothing was done to my computer.

If you receive any error message, please quote it precisely:

Please provide a full description of the problem:
I have deleted and re-loaded the program several times with out any issues. However, once Incredimail is active, my computer slows down to a literal crawl while any e-mail message is loading. If I have turned off the computer for a time, my new e-mails messages take FOREVER to download......very annoying! It started just before Xmas.

Thanks for any help or suggestions

The problem you are experiencing can usually be solved by deleting your IncrediMail 'Runtime' folder. This folder saves all the recent content that you have used, allowing IncrediMail to reuse the content you have already used, without reloading it to your computer's memory, losing time and computer resources.

If you delete this folder, it will be automatically recreated and the IncrediMail content will begin to be saved again.

To delete your 'Runtime' folder, please click here.

Click 'Run' in the File Download dialog, click 'Run' again when asked to run the software and follow the instructions in the SupportUtil dialog.

Open IncrediMail and let me know the results.

I had to upgrade first, which was a bit of surprise as I had done that recently. Then I deleted the runtime folder which does seem to have helped.

Does this mean that this is something that will need to be done everytime the folder gets full?

The Runtime folder won't "fill up" but since its size can get large, you can easily use these instructions as often as you want - save them (or Bookmark this page) and use them whenever you think it might help! <In Love>

Thank you for your help. Everything seems to be running more smoothly now. I've had Incredimail for many years--the folder must have been huge!
