JunkFilterPlus and Incredimail v2.0

Postby Wallace » Mon Sep 14, 2009 9:31 pm

I have been a Premium user of Incredimail Xe for many years. I thought that I would give v2.0 a try. I completely uninstalled Xe removing my license files first, then rebooted my PC. I then installed v2.0. It excepted my Premium license file and my JunkFilterPlus license file. I was directed to the JFP web page so I could download JFP, this I did. On running the installation program I was informed by a pop-up box that it was incompatible and that I should download a version compatible with v2.0. What the heck do you think I just did?

Where can I get a JFP version that WILL install on v2.0? I just paid £39 and cannot even use the thing. Most annoying.

This isn't the only problem I am having with Incredimail either.

Time to start looking at alternative programs me thinks.

I have an update. If I set Internet Explorer as my default browser (NOT Firefox) and download JFP the correct version for v2.0 is downloaded and installed OK! Result.

But why?

Perhaps R&D can tel me and anyone else with the same problem.

That is probably due to the cookie settings of Mozilla Firefox.

Our website recognizes which version you're using by the cookie stored in the browsers settings,
this is how IncrediMail knows to determine which version you're using and necessary add ons for the current installed version.
Probably the cookie wasn't cleared in Firefox or you might have an installed cookie blocker imbued in Firefox.

I'm glad that all is up and running, thank you for your update.
