Old emali addresses show up when trying to fill in "send to"

Postby popeye60 » Sat Nov 20, 2010 1:00 am

Your IncrediMail Version: 2.0
Your Internet Browser Type: Internet Explorer 8
Your Operation System: Windows XP

What have you done before the problem occurred?
The problem has always been there but I just kept getting frustrated but did not address it..

If you receive any error message, please quote it precisely:
No

Please provide a full description of the problem:
When I want to fill in the "send to" address I put in the first letter of the email account. It brings up old addresses where a person used to have an address but has now changed provider. It brings up the new one as well as the old one. How do I remove these addresses that are no longer being used. The file is getting really junky.

Hi popeye,

What you have to do is maintain your 'popular , 'favorites', and 'suggested' lists contained under you 'Address Book'.
The email addresses you don't want just delete. That should make that drop down list much shorter. To access your 'Address Book' depress the keycombo of 'ctrl + shift + B'.
Hope that helps.

the problem is how do you get rid of all the old email addresses OK getting rid of them out of CONTACTS box is no trouble-- getting rid of them from when you press a letter in the TO-- column is the problem... in older versions of INCREDIMAIL it was easy and you could keep your incomings cleaned easily. But with the 2.0 version it is impossible I have contacted HELP and all they say is clean your contacts box. they did say (I think) that it is impossible to get rid of all the old addresses-----but they are working on it??????????? If I cannot get an answer and have the old addresses cleared then I will go to another provider-- To heck with what my wife says, and as much as she likes INCREDIMAIL I do NOT like to have to troll through all the old email addressesss from the past.

Hi bigspend,

IF this is your problem
-- getting rid of them from when you press a letter in the TO-- column is the problem...
then follow my advice from the post above.
That is: Open your 'Address Book" (keycombo of 'ctrl + shift + B'). Now go to your suggested tab and delete the old contacts. (select contact then depress the 'delete' key)

Hope that helps.

These are Temporary Contacts that do not exist in your IncrediMail Address Book.

To remove these addresses, please type in the 'To' area until you see the unwanted address.

Select it so it appears in the 'To' area, then right-click on it and select 'Properties'.

Click 'Ok', which will add it to your Address Book.

You can now delete it directly from your Address Book.
Best regards,
